Buying guide
UNDERSTANDING HYDRAULIC & GEAR OIL GRADES
The number is the ISO viscosity grade: the higher the number, the thicker the oil.
Use the product finder- HW 32
- Thinner oil for systems in cooler conditions and machines that specify ISO VG 32.
- HW 46
- The most common general-purpose grade for industrial and mobile hydraulics.
- AW 68
- Thicker oil for high-pressure systems, hot climates and heavy earth-moving equipment such as JCBs.
- ISO VG 220 to 460
- Industrial gear oils for enclosed gearboxes. Higher grades suit slower, more heavily loaded gear drives.
