In manual gearboxes, transmissions and machinery gearboxes where the maker specifies EP-90 (SAE 90) and API GL-4.
Can I use GL-5 oil in a GL-4 gearbox?
Only if the manufacturer allows it. Some older gearboxes with brass synchronisers specify GL-4 because stronger GL-5 additives can affect yellow metals.

EP-90 gear oil is available in 1 Ltr, 5 Ltr, 26 Ltr, 50 Ltr, 55 Ltr, 210 Ltr.
Can I mix this with other oils?
Mixing is not recommended. If you must top up, use an oil of the same grade (EP-90) and specification, and switch fully to MAXX-LUBE at your next change.
